The SOL-IT Cubes are so versatile, adaptable, expandable – simply dynamic. And we know that. That’s why our team is constantly developing and optimising the Cubes. Each release hides new surprises that we naturally don’t want to keep from you.
With the new release 2024.02. we present this time mainly the topic of proformance, but we have also worked out extensions.

Email Address Selection: Connection History and Addresses from Database
It sometimes happens that email addresses are used that are not stored in the central Cubes database, but should still appear in the recipients‘ suggestion list.
When entering e-mail addresses (e.g. in the TO field), both the most recently used addresses and the addresses determined in the database are displayed as a suggestion.
The order in which the addresses are displayed is as follows:
1. Display of addresses from the neighborhood ranked by the most recently used addresses.
2. Addresses found from the search ranked by the most recently used addresses.
3. Recent addresses
4. The search result from the search in the database
Hint:
Until now, this function could not be used in combination. It was possible to determine the addresses either from the database or otherwise from the transmission history. The user setting before it has been removed, so the combined method is used as the default.
mobileCubes App: Improvement of data transmission performance through new standard transmission mode
The data transfer of mobileCubes has been improved by the so-called „Next“ transmission mode and works more reliably. The upload of the information to be transferred starts faster and is more stable.
Hint:
This setting has been adopted as the new default setting. Therefore, no adjustment to the configuration settings is required.
Assignment information: Folder assignment including the entire path
The Quick Information (ToolTip) for object and folder assignment is possible by hovering over the mouse pointer on the assignment symbol in list views (e.g. Inbox).
If the object in question is assigned to a subfolder, this is indicated by a leading „.. \“. If you want to view the entire folder path, you can use the mouse to dwell on the folder entry (with „.. \“ flag) and the entire path is again displayed as a ToolTip.
By clicking on the folder, you can switch directly to this folder.
Hint:
If the connection icon is not displayed in a view, this can be done by using the „Define View“ function and selecting the „Parent Connections Icon„ property with the option „Show as: Icon“.
After that, don’t forget to save the view.
Search in Assigned objects: Consideration of the folder specification for „Belongs to“
The search in the assigned objects (e.g. document, e-mails, etc.) has been improved in the „Belongs to“ area. If one or more folders are explicitly selected in „Belongs to“, the search is limited to only these folders.
If no folder is selected, the entire associated objects are searched.

ZUGFeRD XRechnung – Support for outgoing invoices
In preparation for the obligation to receive e-invoices in Germany from 01.01.2025, the outgoing invoices from SOL-IT Cubes have already been prepared to support the ZUGFeRD format.
The function is executed from a report preview to an outgoing invoice at the time the PDF is created. The prerequisite is that the report is defined as a preview of the object type „Article invoice“ and that the option „Insert invoice data as XML document into PDF document“ is selected on the „Import“ tab.
With this setting, the invoice data is automatically added to the PDF document as an XML record as an attachment when PDF is created.
Support for the corresponding processing of ZUGFeRD incoming invoices is planned in the course of the upcoming 2025.01 release.
Hint:
From 01.01.2025, the receipt of an e-invoice in accordance with EN 16931 will be mandatory for all German B2B transactions. The Federal Ministry of Finance (BMF) has stated that ZUGFeRD from version 2.0.1 and XRechnung onwards are basically an invoice in a structured electronic format that meets the requirement.
- ZUGFeRD: Hybrid format – human-readable PDF/A-3 with embedded XML file in the syntax „Cross-Industry Invoice“ (CII)
- XRechnung: XML file in the syntax „Cross-Industry Invoice“ (CII)
- XRechnung: XML file in the syntax „Universal Business Language“ (UBL)
Sign PDF documents with a mouse, pen or finger
PDF documents can be edited directly in cubes without the use of external PDF programs. An additional function is to sign the PDF documents using a mouse, pen or finger in a signature field.
The position of the signature is defined by mouse click. Moving, scaling and removing the signature is possible at the time of editing.
Hint:
This is not a digital signature of the PDF document with a certificate. This function can also be obtained via another additional feature
